SECRETARY'S REPORT
The recent EBA outcome, should it be endorsed by members, could represent the most significant change we have seen in policing for decades.
Sadly, “EBA junkies” like me can recite the past EBA achievements that members have fought for during previous bargaining rounds.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
The Enterprise Bargaining Agreement you’re about to vote on has been hard fought for by our administration team and generous in what it delivers to you, our hard-working members.
Throughout this campaign, our members have been enthusiastic and involved in helping us to secure an agreement that delivers on many of the major issues and asks within the log of claims that you helped to draft, and we presented to the Government and Victoria Police.
This is an agreement that is fair for everyone, offering real pay rises and delivering a level of balance and flexibility in policing never seen before in Victoria.

Industrial action was launched on Monday, December 16, two weeks after Victoria Police’s EBA expired without an agreement for a new one.

TPAV was one of only two organisations to make a submission, providing a comprehensive analysis of current faults within the system based on expert advice, case studies and other research.

FORGED IN THE FIRE
For police caught up in Victoria’s bushfire response, the new year started as the old one finished. In fact, there was no time for distinction, as the fight for people and property became their sole concern.
“Was there a new year? Because we all missed it,” asked TPAV East Gippsland Delegate, Senior Constable Arlene Burnett.
“It’s just been a blur. We’re just getting on, doing what we can on a daily basis and hoping for that day to come where people will have some normality back in their lives.”
